Is there much interest in your area in the upcoming Olympics sailing competition?

I am enjoying watching the Olympics so far, and am looking forward to the sailing competitions and hope there is a lot of sailing race coverage.

And, I am curious as to whether there is much interest in other places around the country and around the world??????????????????????????

There is in the UK. Sailing (along with cycling, swimming and horse riding) is one ofthe UK's principal medal sports.

There is a relatively large sailing community in the SF Bay Area. I would imagine there is lots of interest in Olympic sailing here. If only they would show Olympic sailing on TV. Even a little would be better than nothing.

They're not wind powered, but I noticed today that the Aussies had a very successful day in the rowing competitions, and that the Brits did well too.

In fact the Aussies are having an awesome Olympic performance so far, especially when you consider the size of their population. If ranked by medal per person in the country, they're probably #1.

We have 7 channels of olympics running and no sailing - grrrrrr....

We do have 4 channels showing badminton and table tennis and 3 channels showing soccer.

Singapore is going to get at least a silver in table tennis. First medal in 48 years.

No one is mentioning (too much) that the doubles pair representing Singapore are from China. It's sort of a China/China final in my book.

Oh, well... I just hope we get some sort of sailing coverage...

Just checked the schedule, and it looks like there are races in several classes, weather permitting, between 1pm and 3:30 pm China time (1am and 3:30 am eastern time in the U.S.).

Based on NBC's website, it doesn't look they are televising any of it. Bummer!!!

It may be possible to see it online.
