Re: Is There a Caste System in Sailing?

Don't look now, but the "caste" system based on money isn't restricted to sailing.

"Reverse snobbery" coming from a boat owner is, well, laughable. Nobody with a boat has anything to complain about.

An interesting thread. So much I (or anyone for that matter) could say. I refrain.

Lol, well I bet it is for the owner?

Hey Boatman, you're not set off across the pond from the US yet?

Re: Is There a Caste System in Sailing?

Nobody who owns a boat has anything to complain about, but that doesn't stop them.

"I was so poor, I was living in my car."

[Silence. Crickets chirping.]

"In your country, the poor have cars?"

Yeah, our neighbors talked about having to share the same pair of shoes!

Rich bastages!

We had to share the same pair of feet!

Re: Is There a Caste System in Sailing?

We were so poor, all we had to play with was rocks. So we threw them at each other.

One day, two of the rocks collided in mid-air, and that's how gravel was invented.

The rest is history, and now we have boats to play with.

We couldn't even afford the rocks, so we just threw air at each other.

That's how wind was created.

Now, if you will all start sending me my royalty checks please!

We were so poor, if I hadn't been born a boy, I wouldn't have had anything to play with.

You could afford to be born?

We just had to appear out of thin air!

We were so poor, when we threw a stick for the dog, he wouldn't bring them back.
