Iridium Sat-Phone Rental

Hello,

Does anyone know a good place to rent an Iridium Sat phone? When I google it I get so many companies. Any recommendations or advice?

I apologize on my last thread for not responding to everyone that contacted me about crew for our sail to the USVI. I had a lot of responses! We are so busy getting ready that we've pushed our sail date back to Nov 10th. I believe we've finally found good crew that are flexible on dates. Someday on a quiet beach I may be able to catch up on email!

Also, does anyone know the total cost comparison of Skymate email vs. Sailmail? I've found Sailmail requires a $1200 modem, putting it out of our price range. That's why we'll rent a Sat phone instead. We have installed a new SSB to receive weather.

Ocens, I think, rents Sat phones for about $150 a month. Check their website or call, their customer service is great.

They also have an email service or you can use Airmail (with Sailmail).
