Thumbs up Re: International Orange? Safety Yellow?

During WWII the U.S. Navy tested colors that sharks liked so that life raft colors would not attract sharks. The findings of that study tagged the color yellow as "YUM YUM YELLOW" Sooooo I will not wear yellow at sea, including yellow swim fins while diving ! Another study most recent showed that black and white stripes was a color that sharks avoid. Why? the belief is that a very venomus sea snake color of black and white alternating rings of color the lenght of the snake body has an instinctive warning to preditors not to mess with it. Sounds good to me. I wonder if that is why a lot of sailors of old wore horizontal black and white stripe jumpers(shirts).?

The striped shirt was originally a French naval sailor’s uniform, designed to help distinguish the sailors from the waves, so the could be more easily found if they fell overboard.
The Breton shirt, a navy blue and white shirt with 21 horizontal stripes, symbolized each of Napoleon’s victories against Britain.
