I'm Allergic To Power Boats

We were at the boat show today. We saw all the sailboats and equipment and gear and we decided to take a look at the Dark Side.

We stepped aboard a Gran Turismo 49 and as soon as I got below, I started sneezing. I couldn't stop. Once I got off the boat, I stopped sneezing. I think my body was telling me something.

Re: I'm Allergic To Power Boats

Julie,
That is hysterical.. I am allergic to powerboat wakes... they make me heave! I think I could stomach them if they didn't make so much foul smelling smoke/exhaust, unbearable noise and (including their gensets at anchor) and take forever on the fuel dock...

So I avoid them!

I plan to avoid them until arthritis sets in. Then I'll switch.

Re: I'm Allergic To Power Boats

Maybe I needed some Beneau-dryl. A salesman came up to us and I said we were sailors. He said he's converted a lot of sailors. "All it takes is 10 minutes and the wives are all in."

My SO also dragged me over to the RV section. We stepped into one of those bus type things and I sat in the driver's seat. I felt like there was a 80" TV screen directly in front of me. The windshield was huge!

Re: I'm Allergic To Power Boats

I'd own that large Bus/RV before a powerboat, that's for sure.

Funniest line from a powerboat broker-"at least its faster than the flies!"

I'll give him that, but how many of these dock queens ever fuel up and leave the marina?
