The ocean is much wider than a road. And as you know the rules are different. The is No right of way :-D Merely burdened and stand on. The yacht would obviously be the Burdened and have to avoid it-rightly or wrongly.

I like the concrete barrier analogy. Except, of course, the barrier would have to be on roller wheels, and equipped with some random propulsion system, maybe a dozen drunk midgets blindfolded randomly moving it about for no particular purpose.

NOW you've got a much better analogy to simply setting a huge bottle adrift at sea.
