The most cruising sail boats at one time would be less than 30. 2/3rds in the Salomons and the other 1/3rd in Peros Banos.
Fortunately neither atols are visited by cyclones being only some 5 degrees 20' south of the equator.

The regulations are not difficult to adhere to. However, you will have apply to the BIOT office in London UK to visit in advance of sailing there.

Taking the waterway of Kerala first - if one has the opportunity to visit Cochin by a cruising sail boat (with a visa) then leave your boat under specialized arranged care and become tourist visiting many many special places in the Kerala waterways by local boats - well worth it.
The Maldives are gradually accepting the idea of visiting cruisers, Male the capital has some facilities.
Sri Lanka has very little to offer the cruiser other than a very expensive 24 hour stop over, Most western Embassies are still issuing travel advisories.
The Chagos Archipelago must always be the real cruisers ultimate destination.

Santa Carolina Island 21º 37' South x 35º 20' East
lies a little to the West of the Bazaruto Archipelago.
A real gem, much easier to get to than the Chagos.

Here is a small island chain that are on the "mostly forgotten about" list for pretty much all except for a few Southern Californians, and those on expeditions out of Cabo San Lucas: The Revillagigedos Isles (The Mexican Gallapagos). More Specifically: The Barcena Volcano on San Benedicto Island & Socorro.

I once went to The Isle of Dogs. Does that count? Its full of flavour of various nationalities, and not many people go there (not from choice anyway).

Has anyone been across the Bering and then into Russia by boat? The entire Alution chain is quite remote and unpopulated, the weather can create an entirely new adventure. History for hundreds of years ca be found as well as recent WWII history.

Many many years ago we (my dad got the job...I was child labor) built two national guard armories on St Lawrence island (in the Bering sea)...one in Savoonga and the other in Gambell.
Many of the native population in Gambell still had relatives in Siberia, and apparently, the government was having a hard time convincing them to stop visiting each other.
They would make the trip in Umiaks with outboards.
We had a 16ft Avon with a 50hp merc that we used to explore the island...lots of sea mammals and Puffins everywhere!
It was cool.
The first trip out I made on the tug towing the barge with the material from Nome, Dad said it would be a good experiance...it was my introduction to projectile vomiting.
