On a side note, I got into sailing a few years back BECAUSE the story I was writing had an ocean crossing part and I wanted it to be more authentic. Fast forward, and now boat stuff is taking up writing time, haa.
Oh wow, that is so cool. My book will be somewhere in the South Pacific - you are awesome!

Let me know what you think. As a fellow writer (and sailor) I'll be looking forward to your thoughts, if you can get them to me.

What is the book you wrote? Is it on amazon so I can take a look?

lol, it's not quite done.
I did go with the pro editor, though. Good advice.
Thanks for all the tips on self-publishing.

Re: I wrote a book!

Thanks for letting us know about your book, Jason! I'm also looking forward to perusing it soon.

And those are very good tips for other upcoming or lurking authors, too.

Just downloaded it. Perfect timing as we are setting out from Anacortes in a few days on our way to Juneau!

That is perfect. You can read it as you sail past Hurst Island

Enjoy!

Re: I wrote a book!

Excellent book!

I dont normally read fiction, but since this was written by a CF member I decided to give it a try. I also normally avoid fiction, books or movies, that has sailing as a theme because they are usually so full of technical flaws as to make them unbelievable for me (this book does not suffer from those flaws). Im glad I made an exception in this case!

If you are a sailor with an interest in indigenous cultures and environmental conservation (as am I), then I think you will enjoy this book very much.

Re: I wrote a book!

Ok, I'm about half way through it, and as a disclaimer I will try to reveal no plot or spoiler alerts.

To be perfectly honest, it's not my cup of tea. I hope I don't spoil anything by saying its not really about sailing, at least in the traditional sense of a sailing adventure.

It is well written, I've only come across one typo ( the word "me" was added where it didn't belong ). It moves along, almost too fast in some spots.

I think a lot of people will probably like it.
