I want to rent a bare boat in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia

Hello,

my name is Burkhard and I'm from germany. I will have holiday from 20th of december until the 1st of january 2013 on the island of Borneo, in the Sabah province. The name of the city I will stay is KOTA KINABALU (KK).

I'm looking for a small motor boat with steering wheel if possible and a sun roof, for a one-day-trip. I want to rent such a boat without a crew, I will control it by myself.

Unfortunately I could not find any company in the city, which could offer me such a boat for rent. It's hard to understand.

Not I try to find some people who can help me to find such an opportunity in advance.

I wish you a nice time, and I look towards for some information,

Yours,
Burkhard.

Hi Burkhard,When we were there a couple of years ago there were no such companies. Private pleasure boating is virtually unheard of there and the small marina caters mainly to expats or visiting cruisers with their own boats. You may be able to get a crewed charter but bars boating is very unlikely.
Regards,
Jill

Now I found a company where I can rent different type of boats

Dear folks,
Now I found a company where I can rent a boat without a crew. The company owns this boats for organizing night fishing tours, but they also rent the boats without crew. The have a 22 feet 15hp small boat, a 24 feet 65hp middle boat and also a 28 feet 185hp big boat.
They are mit expensive: 40 Euro, 60 Euro, 150 Euro.

Now i would like to know if there are information about the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park. Are there any restricted areas? Can I cruise to every island?
