I need help to look at a boat, anyone on Bonaire

I have find a sailboat that interests me on Bonaire.
I am from Sweden so it is not around the corner. Do I have that luck that some one here is on Bonair and can take a fast look at the boat.

Cheers /Benny

A FAST look by a non-professional could only get you in trouble. Shop closer to home.

If I buy it or not is not depending on fast look buy someone else.
But if someone take look at it and get the feeling it is ok or not, may help me to decide if I am going to go there and take a look by my self.

Shop closer to home?

I bought a boat in St Maarten and I don't live anywhere near there.
I started by finding someone who did live there look at the boat and send a few photos.
Then I went and confirmed my interest and then hired a surveyor.

If you are willing to go through the steps and spend the money who cares where the boat is located.

The delivery home may not be a big deal...if there is no work required to make it seaworthy. When you have to begin looking for talent, long distance, and locating local parts and material sources, time and money quickly disappear. Buying a boat out of the country presents its own special problems.

Re: I need help to look at a boat, anyone on Bonaire

Good point on the work to get it home.

We had intended to leave it in St Maarten but after a short period decided it was better off home.

Things that would not have mattered if it stayed had to be addressed for the trip. Fortunately all our issues were small but...that is not always the case as everyone here knows.

We needed new batteries $$
Life Raft $$
Filthy Fuel tank had to be addressed

That was as complicated as it got fortunately.

The boat made the relatively short journey without incident.
