Re: Husband Convicted After Wife Disappears Overboard

Weird. Says he was smuggling stolen coins and silver. From his behaviour drugs would be easier to believe.

Very sad for his wife's family.

Re: Husband Convicted After Wife Disappears Overboard

They seem to make a big deal of him not firing off flares. I'm not sure a flare would be useful in that situation, so I'm not sure I would have fired any off either.

Not saying I think he did the right thing. His actions are weird enough that I suspect he probably deliberately killed her and then tried to cover it up. But the whole obsession in the article with him not lighting flares is also pretty weird.

Maybe he got tired of the constant criticizing, nagging, bitching and complaining and just........quit.

Beyond weird on so many levels.....

He didn't turn around to look for her.

He abandoned the cat under question circumstances. ( he somehow managed to scuttle it I guess)...

He admitted he basically did nothing to save her.

The whole story is WAY fishy, which is why he got convicted I suppose.

The small holes in each hull “ made from the inside” are the real evidence.

Prosecutor doesn't have the hulls for proof, that's why it's not a homicide conviction. The perp's strategy worked.

I disagree, he was stupid, way stupid.
If he had done whatever he did to her, but kept going for three days, and then claimed she fell overboard, Mayday call. Turn around, alert the world by whatever means, not try to sink the boat etc., then they would have nothing.

I don’t think it was premeditated, my guess is he did whatever he did out of rage, then had no plan, just acted on whatever he thought of, and it wasn’t planned, or if planned, he is a very stupid person.

What don’t they have the boat?

I think there was a murder scene on the boat that he had to get rid of, that is why he “Sunk” the boat

Today I learned that a64pilot is the screen name for Robert Wagner.

Re: Husband Convicted After Wife Disappears Overboard

Frankly, if I were King for a Day, I would instruct the authorities to strap 10# diver's weights to each of his ankles, take him out to 2 fathoms of water, tie his wrists behind his back with zip ties, and pitch his sorry a_s off board so he can "experience" what his wife must have endured. There is no, not a single, excuse for what his wife suffered at his hands. In my view, he should die, very painfully!

FWIW...

Re: Husband Convicted After Wife Disappears Overboard

The brief photo of the so-called holes in the hull seem to show perfect dagger board slots. Certainly not something hacked thru with an ax or tool. He may well be guilty of murder but saying that he scuttled the boat based on those photos seems like a pretty thin case. Like many things, we will never really know._____Grant.

Re: Husband Convicted After Wife Disappears Overboard

A movie actress, Natalie Wood, was aboard Wagner's boat, at a dock, at a party, so long ago I may not remember this right. Robert Wagner was an film actor. She fell off the boat and drowned. There were no charges. There was talk of drunkenness and tranquilizers. I do not know what happened, truly. She may have been pushed overboard and unable to swim. If she were falling down drunk, she may easily have fallen, to drown.

Re: Husband Convicted After Wife Disappears Overboard

Robert Wagner and Natalie Wood were married at the time (for the second time) when she died as Jim said above. Another very famous actor was also on board. It is very hard in cases like this (and the one from the post) to prove that someone was murdered without a witness or confession.
