Hunter 376 Modifications

I'm in the process of purchasing a Hunter 376. In the course of my research I have read about various subjects, to include adding an adjustable backstay, modifying the forward chain locker, etc. I would appreciate any input on those issues, as well as advice on a set up for a stern anchor and rode, a good chute or spinnaker set up, and any modifications that might improve a Hunter's seaworthiness in blue water passages.
