Thanks much for posting
these video links. Instead of Giligan's Island reruns, I think the family
and I will be watching these for the next family movie
night. The dismasting
one was good too. Question in my mind, among many, is how to replace four able bodied men
, all who look like they are pretty experienced, with a late 40's couple, a 12 year old boy and a 15 year old boy.
When our mainsheet block blew apart duriung a blistering sail up the Jumentos a couple of years ago, just as we were navigating between a couple of reefs
, we handled it pretty well, never dropping sail or slowing down much, and had a jury-rigged repair in place (that held for a couple thousand more miles) in less than 45 minutes. We felt pretty good about that. But holes in the hull
, or broken masts? I'm sure we'd survive, and I'm sure we will learn a lot from these videos.
