Re: How Old's Your Ride?

Our Ride is a 1975 Bristol Corsair, third year with her, a fine boat that forgives its owners foibles quite nicely. Oh and we are 56 and 46 years old.

Re: How Old's Your Ride?

I was thinking that in maybe 10-15 years I probably was going to need to replace my boat with a newer used model. But now I realize that I will be 71-81 years old when I boat joins the most voted on 30-40 age group on the poll.

Kind of eye opening isn't it? I too thought maybe I had bought too old, but now maybe not

Re: How Old's Your Ride?

Currently sailing a 1962 Pearson Triton, hull #301. My parents bought it new and it has been in the family ever since.

Now deep into the complete reconstruction of a John Alden designed auxiliary ketch, hull #777A, a vessel design slightly modified from the Malabar Xll - being a little bit beamier and with an added boomkin for rig stability. This boat was built in 1947. However, much of the original construction is gone so I don't know if it qualifies.

Gonna name my boat Serenity, I am sure you can use that to figure out another of my favorite shows.

If you were to name it "Serenity Now!" it would be Seinfeld.

Serenity has to be the most common boat name I've seen so you won't be alone.

Nice boats... one of the unsung good ones... forgiving of both sailing and maintenance forgetfulness...
