Wait I know that trick. It's the same trick we used to use playing tag as a kid where you took the "base" and ran with it so you couldn't get tagged out. I say well done! Now no one else can finish the race because they can't round the mark.

I smile but I remember the day I almost caught a tall fairway buoy with the boom topping lift, because the boat heeled at the wrong moment. By luck, the buoy turned and the topping lift was freed.

I've found that it is a very good strategy (if you are going to be DQd anyway). In this case though they were just a little too obvious.
