How Long Does it Take You to Get to Your Boat

About 2 hours from home, depending on the ferry schedule.

1 1/2 hours from work, no ferry required.

One hour (50 miles) each way. Taking beautiful back roads adds 15', which I prefer.

Until recently we had a fellow in our marina (in Sausalito, California) who commuted to his boat from Rapid City, South Dakota. Presently, there's one couple here who commute from from Park City, Utah; they show up at least two weekends per month. However the prize goes to the fellow from Boston, Massachusetts who keeps a sailboat here. We only tend to see him once a month, but he usually comes for a week at a time.

It takes about 6.5 hours from the house to the marina but I always stay for at least a week at a time when I go, which is at least once a month.

3 hours with a stop for food and a stretch of the legs halfway. We go most weekends.

We've been known to drive back Monday morning before work when getting back from the weekend cruise late on Sunday. Now that is painful.

About 1 1/2 hours. That's more than 2 1/2 hours closer than skiing is in the winter, so it doesn't seem too bad.

40 to 50 minutes, about 68 km as I recall. The next problem is my marina is all the way at the end of the harbour. It makes the drive slightly shorter, but it means another 45 minutes of motoring until I can get the sails up. Oh well...

actually, he sailed his boat here from New England to be able to visit a child who attends school on this coast. Plans to sail it back to his home waters after his progeny's graduation four years from now.

My hat is off to anyone who can sail from the east coast to the left coast of this continent.

I used to go 45 min or an hour with traffic,

Moved to another harbor after checking I had 7' at low water to get in only to find that it was 12+' at dead low

So now 15-20 min, no traffic ever.
