How Do You Get Your Prescription Medications while Cruising ?

I'm planning to sail from Maine to Tortola this fall. I have several medications I should take on a regular basis. Does anyone have any magical suggestions on how and where I should look to make this happen ??

will your md give you a script for ayears worth of meds???? many scripts for a yr???/ or can ye get meds in mexico or other laces that dont have usa restrictions on meds?????
carry with ye a folio of your ills and have md make that for ye. in other places than usa, md visits are CHEAP and the meds re less also-- shouldnt be a big problem.

in ANY country you can go in to see a doctor and just tell him what you need,,, bahamas, Mediterranean, saint marten, columbia, panama, tahiti,,,I have been to ALL of these places and just walked in to the pharmacy and told then what i need,,, in all the countries they told me to go see a doctor, gave me the address, paid 25 dollars to the doctor and got what i needed,,, they are VERY accommodating to people on vacation and cruising,,, i work in the private yacht sector and travel all over so it will NOT be a problem,,,,you just need to find out if your insurance will cover it

or go get a year supply in Canada. It will cost but it will be way less than the uninsured price in the US

I would check with the countries you wish to visit, I have been told that in my area, a quantity in excess of the consumption needed for your legal visit stay, can be interpretated by Customs in a negative light.

do a google search and see if the countries have the medicine and if they have the generic,,,,just call the pharmacy in that country,,,i have done this they are very helpful,,,they want your money

I used to work in Saudi Arabia, and I purchased all of my meds in Arabia over the counter without a prescription because they were a fraction of the cost of purchasing them in the USA. Drug prices are rigged and exorbitant in the USA. I never had a problem getting medications without a prescription when I sailed around the world on Exit Only.
