Booby trap laws will land you plenty of trouble.

There was a recent case with a jewelry store, but here are some similar ones:

Re: Hot wiring your hand rails?

Hot-wired lifelines cause Global Warming, amirite??

(no takers? Bueller?)

Actual reasons why not:
- liability
- liability
- liability

... but there's nothing stopping you from wiring your lifelines to be touch or pressure sensitive and triggering a loud alarm, after a small delay. Or an IR motion detector covering the cockpit.

What I want to know is whether hotwiring a shotgun to a lifeline works as well on a monohull as it does on a multihull. I don't think it does. This is really just one more way that multihulls show their clear superiority.

You would think so, but ... multihulls by nature call for multithings. So, multihull with multiguns would work as well as monohull with monogun ...

Re: Hot wiring your hand rails?

The only thing missing from this thread now is a global warming argument... unless I skipped over it.

OOPS! I did skip over it. So have we got it all? Pirates - Guns - Mono vs Multi - Global Warming.

It's makes me wonder how the whales are being affected.

Actually, I'm wondering what would happen if you hooked it up to your anchor rode. The added tension on the rode when the perp boards could be used to trigger the high voltage circuit and also fire the shotgun. Of course, a Rocna would not be as effective in this application as a Dansforth, I'm sure everyone can agree on that...

Electrolysis heaven. This sounds like the most ingenious way to destroy 100 years of grounding wisdom.

I've been keeping this a secret but maybe its time to reveal. All this gun, shocking, spear/flare gun stuff is weak.

My boat will always be protected by trained sharks, using an electric impulse so they can know when to start thrashing and eating. If the intruders are still in one boat or the other the sharks are authorized to board or in lieu of that may fire ray guns or a 9 mil.

They are well fed afterward, that and a few casino chips all they need for the service.

I wasn't going to reveal my true security measures due to nature of the device. My life lines are wired up to a trans dimensional shifter, so when someone of evil intent tries to board my vessel they immediately vanish to a different dimension never to find their way back.
