I was in fact exploring the possibility of buying
the place, after I discovered last year that it was for sale
. After I posted my original message above, I contacted the owner (or actually, one of the owners, who kind of runs the place) and met her down there. I can't really say much because I agreed to keep the information she gave me confidential, but suffice to say it would be difficult to make it work based on certain financial considerations.
It's too bad, because I think it really could be a really cool boatyard and marina and could be a good little business. And a neat place to live, to boot. But I and a buddy of mine who knows about everything there is to know about financing
real estate decided there really wasn't a good way to make the purchase
work, at least given what the circumstances were back in November/December. For all I know, things have changed by now.
