Home at last

G'Day all,

Yesterday Ann and I finally returned to Australia and Insatiable II. We've been back in the states for the past five months dealing with some spinal surgery for Ann. I'm truly happy to report that the surgeons practiced lawful magic on her, and she is enjoying a nearly pain free life for the first time in years!

We both have enjoyed participating in this forum during this time... it has helped us retain a small degree of connection with our world while struggling through long weeks of treatment and recovery. Our access to the internet will be sporadic once we head out again, but we'll check in whenever we can, and look forward to catching up then.

Incidentally, Insatiable was in pretty good nick when we arrived. Covered with "Gladstone snow" (coal dust to the uninitiated) but otherwise unscathed. Below decks though we have found an infestation of some tiny weevils. No real harm done, but the little bastards are everywhere and I'm sure they will be hard to eliminate fully. At the moment, we are not sure whether tactical nukes or chemical warfare will be our choice of WMD's...

Anyhow, we hope to be back into cruise mode in a few weeks, and meanwhile it is great to be back on board!

Cheers,

G'day Mark,

Well, it would be fun to catch up with you guys, but we've got a "few" boat jobs to address, including bottom paint before we head out. We don't have fixed plans (plans??? WTF are plans???), but will likely be heading east to New Cal/ Vanuatu for the cruising season, and that's a hard passage from as far north as Lizard!

So, it doesn't look very likely, but it would have been a good one! Do enjoy Lizard... it is an interesting place, and usually populated with interesting folks, both ashore and afloat.

Cheers,

Jim
