Hiring a skipper?

Hi Guys,

I'm newbie here and I was after a little advice. I'm looking to buy 40ft -ish sail boat that would be suitable for bluewater cruising and I'm flexible which country I buy it in (I'm based in Southeast Asia at the moment. I was thinking the Caribbean or US as they seem to have the most available at the best price?. I'm not so experienced, so I was wanting to hire a skipper to help when I first get the boat.

My questions are:

1. Where is the best place to find a skipper ie websites, forum other?

2. Roughly how much do you think they might charge?

3. Is there other places you guys might recommend to get a good value boat

lots of very experienced skippers here for hire,as to cost, expect to pay minimum hourly wage ,just remember that a days work for us is calculated @24hours!

look at yachts for sale in langkawi,thailand,pacific first as delivering can be expensive.

I heard that there is heaps of boats for in Langkawi?
