He's probably been waiting a few days to get on the internet. He will have to queue at the internet room to use it. You even have to queue for a park at the supermarket in Auckland.

Well, let me tell you a little story. So much for the southerlies. We tacked out of Wellington into a SE, the wind backed to the east as we got out so we tacked over to Palliser then the wind backed to the NE and we tacked ALL THE WAY to East Cape. Had a gale warning for East Cape but ended up as about 5-10 knots as we went round, then freshened for a brilliant run to Colville with the #1 poled out. Got into the big smoke a bit before midnight last night a day later than expected with a lot of drying out to do and a few deck leaks to fix. Very hot today and the (free) wireless internet here is like a rocket ship, so fast it scares me. No rain yet. I could almost get to like the place, mainly because we don't have to drive anywhere. Live on the boat, catch the ferry to work, 2 minute walk then jump on another boat to go sailing for a living.
Oh yeah, had an awesome eggs benedict with smoked salmon for breakfast at Devonport.

Jealous yet???

I'm in your old berth at Seaview this weekend Pete. Well E5, not sure if it was yours.
Mobile broadband is very slow here, only two bars of service.
Good to hear you had a good trip.

We were in E1. If Kev on Gallileo has a noisy party the only way is to join him. Still getting over the last one.

Gidday "me old" mate. Gets a bit much after a month or so. The geese are loved by only a couple of people there and the rest (like me) tend to go looking for the .22 when they start honking & S#$*ing

Alan,
you've never seen anything like it. It's like the chinese "Ping" story.
There is this shitta tied up to one of the berths with a four by two box frame on the superstructure that is covered in plastic. It sort of looks like a cover while they are working on the boat. I think it is only a disguise.
What happens every morning and evening, a platform ladder swings out the side of the boat and a gaggle of geese walk down it and jump into the water. Then they patrol the marina annoying the **** out of everyone and shittin where they like. Every now and then they decide to pick on someone and honk their heads off.
The shitta boat is really just a floating avairy/home for the geese.
Real weird.....
