Hello to all sailors

Hello !!
This is my first post and I want to use this opportunity to say hello to all of you sailors out there in the Sea and at the office in front of a computer screen.
I hope to be able to learn a lot about sailirng and cruising and also be able to contribute to our forumīs knowledge base.

My goals are getting prepared and educated about long term cruising and sailing in general. I plan to retire soon at only 55 and will be able to keep working, on a more relaexed basis, from anywhere i am sailing at....

I plan to spend 3 or 4 years travelling around the world and then come back to Spain and sail from a base, in the mediterranean.

Currently I have a limited practical Ocean experience but lots of technical skills, I do not have a boat yet and will spend some time researching the issue of what boat is best for travelling around the world with a partner or wife, and maybe a guest couple.

Thanks to all in advance for your help

Re: Hello to all sailors

You and I, it seems, are in the same boat, or lack thereof! Hahah!

It may take a year or two, but I want to live aboard and maybe abroad as well. I however am not as experienced and have only been out on the water in a rented sit-on-top kayak, and only for a few hours at that.

Never actually sailed, looking forward to it!

Cheers and smooth sailing!
