Re: Have you ever hated your boat?

never hated any boat except the clipper marine i had once...never again.

i LOVE my formosa even when she breaks as she is easily repaired, access is not convoluted as in many boats, and she actually sails, and she is SOLID.....rodlmao---she keeps me from swimming and is a wonderful home.

I love my Cal. I have had a few power boats that were not great but did not hate them just wouldnt buy another. My cal is great for the price and size basic, easy to sail, cheap to fix, stiff and can handle rough water well. I,looked at tons of boats and read everthing. I made a list of what was important in order.
1.Easy to sail. 2 coastal/great lakes capable.3 cheap to maintain. 4 stable. 5 can spend a weekend on. 6. trailerable

Re: Have you ever hated your boat?

I had a Dana. Hated the boat every time I checked the engine oil level. The dip stick was in the most difficult position possible.

As soon as the dip stick was back in the engine all was forgiven however

You hate em you love em you loath them you enjoy them. Common get your head sorted out. Get a little bit more proud of your decisions and make them better. Get a boat you can enjoy working on and enjoy sailing on. If not sell it and take up golf.

Golf??
That is something everyone hates - except on very rare occasion where your shot actually goes where you want it to.

Never hated a boat.

To me boats are like women or whiskey. Some are better than others but none of them are bad.

Ultimately it's what you choose to do with them and how you treat them that matters.

Re: Have you ever hated your boat?

I really like my little boat. I haven't had it very long. I haven't even had it in the water since I bought it. But, I really enjoy spending time on it getting it ready to go and getting to know it.

Even though I've been working on one project after another, I still can't say I've had a bad day on the boat. SO much better than being at work.

Re: Have you ever hated your boat?

I have loved all of my boats, some I am fonder of than others. If I didn't like them I never would have let them into the family nor would I have spend as much money on them just so they can be the best that they can be. Besides they have always taken care of us when the **** hits the fan. It's a two way street!!

Never hated the boat just the diesel engine. Converted to electric propulsion and now love both!

Never!

I fell in love when I first saw her, was heartbroken when she was stolen, and overjoyed to get her back.

The same old story: Boy loves boat...boy loses boat...boy gets boat back! Always a classic!

Re: Have you ever hated your boat?

I have hated boats, but never any that i owned. I've worked on some old (1929) cargo ships, one of which I hated. I swear that boat wanted me to be miserable. I also hated one of my father's kayaks. It was an ugly, uncomfortable and generally cantankerous beast.
As far as my own boats, I've generally been smitten with them, despite (possibly in part because of) their flaws. Maybe i've just been lucky

Re: Have you ever hated your boat?

I hated my last catamaran every time I had to antifoul.

My new one is quite a bit larger

I am having coppercoat done, so all I have to worry about are the anodes.
