Re: Going trough the Suez canal

google" prince of the red sea" to arrange a transit/agent

first stop is port said yacht club where you will spend a day or so doing the inspection and paperwork.

it might be a good idea to arrange a guide if you go into town in view of the recent, and ongoing troubles.

sharm el sheik is an absoloute rip off,the dock there is for big ships, but you are not allowed to anchor, would reccomend staying in hurghada and catching the ferry over.
hurghada marina is nice,as is el gouna, but may need to book in advance for el gouna

i put $20 dollars in an envelope in $1 dollar bills, and every time they harass me about the tip i take a dollar out........after about $3 they get the idea and shut up!

the pilots all want "marlboros",but i buy a few cartons of cheap local ciggarettes, and hand these out instead,by the packet.....better than nothing.

buy 2 liter bottles of coke, cheap in the supermarket, and make nice gifts.
