Gibraltar - Smir Rally 2011

Was fortunate enough to take part in this year's Gibraltar to Smir (Morocco) rally last weekend and wanted to thank the organisers as well as help publicise this great weekend to anyone who may like to take part next year.

Below are a couple of pics, as you can see, all types of vessels could take part, I was on a 45 ft steel motorsailor called 'Akita' (1st and 2nd pics). Harvey (the dog) and myself had a great time, Harvey especially enjoyed the BBQ on the quayside in Morocco!

The nurse was there for health and safety reasons......

Marina Smir is actualy pretty good and you'd find it hard to tell that you were not in a generic European marina. Not that surprising as it's actualy run by the Marina Marbella group and was built to compete with the Spanish market.
