Getting impatient

With the stress gaining and growing urge to get back on board a sailing vessel I an getting for lack of a better word impatient. I need to get back on the water. My PTSD which I have dealt with for years is getting worse and all I can think of sailing. Sailing was a tremendous help to me when I returned from Vietnam after my second tour and I now have this urge to "return home" I grew up as fisherman and always had a boat on the water. I even lived aboard a 32 footer for 5 years.
Has anyone any dealing with a 26 foot Islander? I know she doesn't have 6 foot head room but are there any weaknesses or short comings to build or design?

I would just go ahead and buy the smallest thing you think you can survive in. It will make other things more bearable, like replacing the rigging.
