Galveston thief

Soooooo sometime between my survey and taking posession of her, some one went aboard and took alot of stuff. Of course everyone around the boat has seen nothing. Grrr..
Canvas tent covers
Battery for the dingy outboard
Sail repair kit
Numerous spare parts, wiring, tools etc
Buckets. (some how the buckets hurt more than they should)

Soo if your in South Texas and see dark blue boat covers (tent) for a large sailboat, message me. =)

grrrrr not the best way to start.

Re: Galveston thief

If it happened before you took possession, it's not your problem. The owner needs to cough them up or compensate you.

That would be my first guess. Check the broker agreement and see what it says regarding items on the boat and what the owner takes off. Good luck.

+1

If the Agreement does not list the items in the Inventory then you did not buy them (unless they were bolted down). If no Inventory then you didn't buy them..........

Re: Galveston thief

The PO hasnt been down to the baot... I called his broker she has reached out to him... but he is now on dry land, and about 6 hours away. Alot of the things are not something he would want, and some of it was listed in the agreement.

Sounds likely. What's your sales contract say about what transfers and when?

+3 as someone who worked in law enforcement down on the island I can tell ya if it isn't bolted down and chained with five locks it WILL grow legs and walk away.

Things got better after IKE because it drove away the problem people to the mainland. But now they are starting to come back down to the island and with the rebuilding of section eight housing it's only going to get a lot worse.

Re: Galveston thief

When my boat was stolen and taken to Galveston I called the Galveston police to go check and see if was at the marina that I was told it was at and they said "we dont have the man power to do that and it is not officially stolen yet!"and they would not even call Kemah police! so I went there myself called them and told them that I was about to confront him myself and hurt him and then they came to investigate
