Sure, that's why he's looking to trade for another boat.

Anyway, IMO at $5K it should be in "boats under $30K" thread not in "free or close to free".

Its here for better exposure to people that are looking for a nice boat cheap. And before you complain anymore about it being here it is under 10k so it is cheap.

FREE Grampian 26, just west of Kingston Ontario Canada (3 hours east of Toronto). Grampians are well made boats. The G26 is famous for standing headroom below (pretty good for a 26 foot boat).

https://www.kijiji.ca/v-sailboat/kin...oat/1469859601

from the ad:

Good solid project boat. OMC saildrive. Sails. Inside needs gutting and rebuild. Rare shoal draft version. steel cradle. Take away....

Just the sails and stands make it a sweet deal.

That's a sweet deal all the way around. The Ranger 26 was a great boat back in the day and still is a great little pocket cruiser if the keel and bolts are ok. It LOOKS to be in great shape too, and a dodger too! That would be a great little cruiser in these parts!

Re: FREE, or close to free!

I once made the mistake of posting my dream of sailing the Gulf of Mexico on a small sailboat and the desire to find a small sailboat that maybe I could get on payments, not really asking for "free"! After getting some really cruelreplies from some people who obviously have plenty of money, I quickly learned just how crappy some people "choose" to be. My little Skipper 20 is really small but I own her, she is what I have and if I truly want to live my dream I better act now before I become just another man who "had a dream"! What is a dream if one never pursues it? I can just imagine some of the replies I am going to get about how stupid it sounds to sail around the Gulf in a 20ft boat and maybe it is, but this is all I have, this 20ft Skipper and a dream. I just want to be able to say I sat out to pursue my dream and with GOD as my co-pilot I have much faith. No I wont be setting in some glamour yacht, I'll not be envied for such awesome vessel, but just like those in the fabulous vessels they spend lots of money on I will be living "My dream too"! Thier dreams are no bigger than my own, they just get to live thiers on a much nicer/bigger and costlier boat with many more luxuries than my little s/v Valhalla. My grandchildren will be just as proud of thier granpa as yours are of you. To the people who choose to inspire me for chasing my dream "Thank You so much for your kindness" and for those who would rather say hurtful things and tell me how stupid I am for sailing the Gulf of Mexico on such small vessel with no frills, "I will Pray for you"! GOD has Blessed you just the same. Fair winds all.

Just remember whether your boat cost 500 or 5 million you both see the same sunsets but you can afford to see it more often. 🙂

Re: FREE, or close to free!

1962 Pearson Triton 28. Ebay auction, currently at $260 with just hours remaining.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1962-PEARSO...QAAOSwJYVeHij~

I owned an older Pearson 30, so I have a fondness for these old boats. The Triton is a well known model capable of going just about anywhere.

This one for sale looks to be in reasonable condition for its age. Atomic 4, running.

Re: FREE, or close to free!

Found this one in Costa Mesa Ca, a Columbia 24 for that price and a trailer sounds like a great deal to me.

Re: FREE, or close to free!

I am right with you Trey. I am so glad that I wont be alone in capturing the dream with my very limited means....
I have no problem doing a second gig at MCdonalds if it means I can escape the clueless cannibals. They are eating one another and most don't even realize they are just a walking husk.

How many nm does one have to sail to escape it?
