Imagine a dirty a.f. J-24 that has paint flakes like scabies and was pretty dirty underneath w/no cabin accoutrements sitting on a cradle and your 90% there. It was a club racer and was probably fast 10 years ago. I loved it.

Looking nice.

I really like those outboard wells. I went a little ocd and got good at working on outboards after my first one failed a few years back and now I have 5 motors up on classified ads here and craigslist. I can’t imagine a future in which I don’t own a working, serviced outboard, and that means with a little boat like this one I’m sailing out!

To me that is one hell of a deal! That should be posted in the "30k and under" thread. If anyone is looking in that area, run and get a look at that one.

Re: FREE, or close to free!

I had contacted this guys MONTHS ago and inquired about the boat. He wanted way too much, I suggested he I lower the price to a few grand, he disagreed and now its going for free lol. Sadly with old boats this has happened to me a few times.

Anyone in CA need a beautiful old boat and not afraid of a teak deck?

The wife and I actually tried to buy one of these boats in nice condition out of Santa Barbra but she already had a few offers in, mainly for the slip. Absolutely beautiful boats though.

Re: FREE, or close to free!

Okay, here we go I hope everyone is sitting down. The Trintella I posted above is my favorite to be fair but here comes the line up.

Catalina 27 FREE
https://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/...628667495.html

31 foot keel boat, not sure what model 1$ or best offer, I guess she has lead ballast and its about 3k lbs worth.
https://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/...622873051.html

1975 23' American sail boat - $500
https://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/...622306458.html

1974 San Juan 24' - $800 (mission bay)
https://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/...625937647.html

25 foot, 1980s MacGregor Sailboat - $800
https://inlandempire.craigslist.org/...628333556.html

1973 Aquarius 21' Sailboat + Trailer - $650 (Woodland Hills)
https://losangeles.craigslist.org/sf...625682628.html

Whew, okay well I hope someone is able to find a cheap little boat here to get them out on the water. A couple a real nice.

I agree that this should be in the Boats less than 30K thread. There's a great series of youtube videos where a Cal 40 is completely redone & upgraded for the Transpac. Great boats but lightly built & will often need some structural work at this age. You can throw a lot of money at them but you'll end up with a real classic.

Called up to the major league (the 30k thread). Has anyone bought a boat on this list?

1961 seafarer 26 4k

Those weeds aren’t that high!
More pix might sell it better, but it seems just heavy enough for some adventure.

Price feels high to me, given what’s out there, but at around 2x annual storage, it’s in range.

Catalina 30 tall rig, bowsprit 5k
It’s from the yard, but it’s a lot of boat for the money.

https://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/b...628303963.html

Very clean looking on the inside, not a lot of money to get into a boat of this caliber. Catalina -the Ford Focus of sailboats.
