Re: Frankenstorm!

Here's a site that provides status updates and images etc. from marinas in the affected area: Squidd.io. It's based on reports by users..so it may take some time to get a clear picture of damages, if any

I am tied up at the Maryland Yacht Club Rock Creek at the end of the Patapsco. Stayed on the boat overnight to adjust lines. First half of the storm is now over. On my wind instrument saw 45 steady for 4+ hours and gusts to 68 as the winds clocked from NE to N to NW. No surge as wind from north. Center of Sandy just north of here about 25 miles. Forecasted winds strong for 16 more hours starting W to SW to S . Projected winds 45 steady with gusts to 60.

Wind howled today as I bobbed around in my 72x26 slip for a 35 C&C. Found one leak as rain at 5 inches sideways will help with that. My wife went home to surf the house and lost power. I have power (660 ah bank) and a hot shower.

BTW after the storm the Chessie will be a disaster. When thy open all the gates on the Conowingo Dam it will allow major trees toilets LPG containers in the bay to flit around. Be careful.

Re: Frankenstorm!

by the time the weather dork went offline due to power failure, there were 74,900 people in hudson river valley without power.
kingston, ny was being evacuated earlier this evening.
warnings were sent to all living on the water on the hudson to leave and go to higher ground. flooding is happening.
and they aint even begun.. good luck all--stay warm and dry you folks in nj--the pictures i have seen so far are impressive--i remembered the boardwalk that is no longer in atlantic city--from 1950s and 1960s...i hope you all are ok

Re: Frankenstorm!

Been following this closely. Just so awful envisaging the conditions at the moment. Thinking of all of you.

Re: Frankenstorm!

Disturbing how the HMAS Bounty replica has sank with the lives of the Captain and maybe one crew? I have been following them on Facebook. It is a terrible loss.
