Re: Frankenstorm!

Good to hear things went relatively well Vic. Nothing like a hurricane to show up leaks.

Great Vic & Sandy, and Opie glad yours didn't float away but it looks like it was a close one.

Re: Frankenstorm!

great to hear you are all fine!
despite the lack of rum!
sandy
houses have cellars, boats have bilges for the emergency rum supply!

opie it will take a while for dents to form, but boat may need lifting and rechocking under the keel, rather than blocks pushing under with out lifting.

vic try taking the hose to the impellor pump off and blowing down it till you hear bubbles, chances are the tube to the filter is full of leaves and debris as well and check impellor.

The Marina is closed and they will not let anyone in the gate. 100% of the power is out in the area and to many trees down over the roads.

atoll, just heard from the marina. The said the boat is back on blocking. They screwed the boat down with the poppets. Will check tomorrow and make sure they are not too tight. Thanks.

I think once you get out of Mystic you should be able to get around. I drove down to Groton today from Oakdale with no problems.

Most of the tree issues in this region seem to be located near the coast.

Re: Frankenstorm!

We just sent an online donation the the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. 'nothing painful and not an amount to be proud of, but a thought to promote a widespread response.

We also sent in a donation to Red Cross. I'm sure they will need every dollar they can get to deal with this disaster. Be careful of scams-heard there are some masquerading as relief organizations That is low!!

I am just glad to hear from those of you in the danger areas. So very glad you are are safe!!

I understand the skepticism and it's unfortunate that that skepticism was misplaced this time. This is FAR beyond any hurricane I was ever in. Here in St. Petersburg people are desperate to find out what happened to the Captain of the Bounty.
