We don't know but Eric does and he made the choice.

Folks remember what we learned from reading all the comments on the news stories. Facts don't matter for people to give an opinion on the internet these days. Only 2 people know enough at this point to comment on what they might have done different, yet here we go. If you think this is bad, just wait until Eric tells his story and the "experts" find fault with him and HIS decisions. Folks you KNOW it will happen!

Knox-Johnson would be supportive and consoling. Bernard would say "Puis-je avoir une autre cigarette".

Atoll the link isn't working, is it broken or just overloaded with support? Thanks for making the offer to help them out, you sir have restored a little faith in humanity for me. When the link works we will send what we can and hopefully help the family out in our own small way. Bitter sweet ending for the crew of Rebel Heart!

This one works. The other had some extra characters that were breaking it.

Re: Forum Member's boat and daughter in trouble off of Mexico

First I notice this story on Yahoo's "news" homepage and then as I'm reading it, I hear it in the background of our local news channel (Portland, OR).

Sounds like this story is getting picked up all over the world and there should be heaps more updates to come...

Not sure it's trustworthy, but the news channel said the boat was scuttled as it was taking on water at the time. That doesn't sound believable given the conditions and what we know of the situation, but thought I'd mention it as reported.

Best wishes Eric and family - Sorry about the loss of the Hans Christian...

Sure!

Do you want the Oz Lotto numbers, or the American Powerball numbers?

I really haven't heard anyone here criticism his decision. Apparently, he had a choice and chose to leave with the family and I respect his decision. His choice and I'm sure it was what was best for him. I don't think he was forced into it. Maybe pressured but still a choice. It would bother me a lot if he had been forced to abandon the boat.

We know for sure this is legit and going straight to them?

I know Eric, and it won't take him more than a second or so to figure out who I am based on my user name, so I'm staunchly on his side and not trying to cast doubt in any way, I just want to make sure if I donate to this it will definitely get to him.

It comes directly out of a closed Facebook group that Charlotte's sister is actively involved in, so it seem highly unlikely it is not legit.
