I asked the nice man at F-RIB why they didn't use Hypalon. He said the material doesn't stand up well to folding and will fail as a result.
PVC had a bad rep but materials have evolved and the newer fabrics such as Mirasol last well, are UV stable and are plenty robust enough.
I do like the concept
of a RIB
that can be stored safely on passage
and when the boat is left unattended so will be going to have a better look at the Southampton boat show
