Flying Scot vs Windrider 17

I know they are very different boats, but I'm just looking for something to take around the intercoastal around Stuart, FL, maybe some camping in the Keys. Any thoughts??

Re: Flying Scot vs Windrider 17

I would take the Windrider 17, hands down. Some of the reasons;

Half the draft, sure, you can raise the board on a flying scott, but it makes for tough sailing.

Windrider is easier to single hand, flying scott is lots of boat.

Windrider is half the weight.

Windrider is a modern design, Flying scott is a 1950s design.

Wind rider would be awesome in the keys.

Flying Scots are terrific boats for one design racing on inland lakes.
