First Sailing Class - Pic

Last night was the first of five sailing classes on lake Champlain. What a perfect night. About an hour in the classroom, and then out on the water in a small keel boat.

I snapped this picture as I was getting into my car to head home.

I think it was about 5 knots that night. Last night (Tuesday) we had at least twice that and some decent waves.

Thanks for sharing, and allowing us to enjoy your passion and excitement. Sometimes, some of us need that to remind us what it is all about.
I hope you keep us up to date as your adventure continues, and just remember, a bad day is forgotten very quickly when a good day comes along.

I was reminded of this recently when we were motor-sailing up the east coast of Sicily. Wind against current with 15 tonnes of boat dropping off the waves frequently (yes, we were pushing to get out of there sooner rather than later). Two of us were fine, and enjoying the adventure, but two were not happy, with one dry-reaching, and we were feeling for those two.

When we got to our destination - a beautiful calm secluded bay, suddenly (and I mean suddenly) all was well with the world again - the sick person was up and at it, along with the rest of us, and the memory of half an hour previously was just a distant memory.

Remember that, because you will have bad days, but that's life, and it depends what you do with it that matters. Make the most of it - it's way too short.
