EMAIL & GRIB Files on board

Hi at all in the Forum
I'm getting ready for an ocean crossing.

I am looking for information to connect my Iridium Phone 9555 to my Mac in order to get email, Weather Grib files and tracking.

What references do you have about Sailmail, MailASail or others providers of those services?
Which is the best?

Thank you
Rafael

UUPLUS uses the rudics protocol. This speeds up connection time compared to most other services.

Rafael,

With an external antenna and UUplus email service, you can correspond via email and download weather [and other] files.

We do this with an Iridium 9575, external antenna, and Mac laptop. Your 9555 is just as capable.

If you are interested in more details with links to related information and resources, I maintain a Satellite Comms page on our blog [mainly so we can keep track of our own choices based upon extensive research...]

Best wishes choosing what is best for you.

Cheers! Bill

PS: Chile is on our list of places to spend some time...
