First, your argument makes no sense at all. You're suggesting that man made global climate change doesn't exist because the solution to it is difficult? How does that make sense? It's a bit like: "I'm being attacked and violated by a gorilla, but I don't know how to make the gorilla stop, so I'll decided that I'm not being violated."

Second, everybody already knows the answer: Reduce our emissions of greenhouse gases. The fact that that is unpopular and politically difficult doesn't mean that there's a problem with the science.
Yes over the line to be sure. LE's gracious acknowledgment noted. The point I was trying highlight was just who's ox is being gored when it comes to political solutions to Climate Change. There appears much reluctance to claim ownership of policy initiatives by the climate crowd here, mostly because it trickles down from the 1% to the detriment of the mostly impoverished, low information least educated. Precisely the constituents the the 1% claim to represent. It reeks of colonialism, exploitation and nepotism.

What a waste of megabytes!

If you want some so called facts, check the archives. This argument has been going on since CF started 10 years ago. Ya'll can add this to the gun/anchor threads!

I told you soooo! Over 300 posts now and still climbing.

Lets go back to the anchor threads! At least there are some that have actually tested the science.

I'm just glad I won't be around in 2029 or 2036. Things are going to really heat up! >>>>> Predicting Apophis' Earth Encounters in 2029 and 2036

I have, the evidence is overwhelming.

Look, till the very end RJR et al tried to say there was no connection between smoking and cancer. Those who wished to believe that did. It is the same now. But if you wish to smoke, that is your business. But I quit.

I can get behind the idea of focusing on those things we can effect, although pollution and poverty are not two of them. Unless you are talking about cleaning up your personal space and getting out of debt.
Got a link to the press release ?

While we wait lets take a look at the Met Office and what a bunch of dodgy customers they are. A few years ago they sourced their data from Phil Jones and his buddies at the University of East Anglia. Remember them and all their crooked " hide the decline " emails ? It is important to always be skeptical of anyone who stands to enrich themselves if you believe their theory and that applies to everything not just climate. The Jones Gang enjoyed a pretty fat budget and so fed the politicians what they wanted to hear in order to keep the gravy train chugging along.

Well the boys down at the Met Office weren't going to let the Jones Gang take all the gravy so they climbed aboard too and awarded themselves some mighty fat bonuses. Toot toot !
Met Office staff scoop more than £12million in bonuses over five years (but get forecasts wrong) | Mail Online

Note the dates of the above two links. The Met Office took data feeds from the highly paid Jones Gang through 2008 - 9 and as a result rewarded their cleverness with a barrel or two of fat fresh pork and a huge dollop of gravy. When was the Met Office most disastrous error of recent times ? It was the 2008 - 9 Winter forecast which was wildly wrong.

Their summer forecasting was no better.
UK’s Met Office blows another summer forecast | Watts Up With That?

Notice that so far three from three forecasts have been HIGHER than reality, almost as bad as those rising sea level forecasts.

Not long after Phil Jones was forced into obscurity by his indiscretions and gave an interview to the BBC on the way out the door, perhaps in order to achieve an element of absolution. He admitted in respect of recent warming periods: " As for the two periods 1910-40 and 1975-1998 the warming rates are not statistically significantly different. " So the high priest of the warmistas now tells us that warming is not accellerating like he had been telling us. Oh well.
Climategate U-turn: Astonishment as scientist at centre of global warming email row admits data not well organised | Mail Online

Perhaps the relevant Met Office press release is the recent one dated 8 January 2013. In that release an earlier forecast, when confronted with reality, was revised down by 20%. That now makes 4 out of 4 Met Office forecasts exceeding reality. Ever wondered why the odd one isn't lower than reality ?

I had a lot of excuses for smoking too. Makes me sad when same kind of self denial is used as an excuse to enviromental disaster. BR Teddy

Ok. The trolls win. I'm closing the thread.

And I'm sorry to have to do it, cos there is some very interesting information in here, which has been spoilt by petty minded, childish members who choose to insult other members rather than keeping to their own experience and knowledge, thereby creating far too much work for us mods who have to delete your petty bickering.

We are volunteers, and we moderate here because we appreciate the wealth of knowledge we have gleaned from here to support our own cruising. We like the fact it's a nice place to be. If you can't be nice, then please go elsewhere and leave the rest of us to our intelligent and civil discussions.
