Drummer's Stool

I just thought I'd let other small boat owners know how awesome these things work on a small boat without a Nav table or any other sort of table

And they come apart and can be stored

one example:

Re: Drummer's Stool

Stability is better when you have a back support but it costs bit more.

To the OP, what do you use yours for?

I just got one and put it aboard yesterday, (my son the musician had an extra one) and plan to use it when on my laptop mainly but also when reading or writing.

My boat now has a rickety table that can be installed in front of the settee but it's positioning is all wrong.

With the drummer's stool, I can use almost anything as a table and position the stool as needed. The Thetford Head can be used, the settee, the engine cover, or on the entire starboard side, there is an ice box, sink, then a countertop than can be used to place the laptop. The V-Berth might also work.

Or if I just want to read, I can place the stool so that I can lean up against the main bulkhead ........that which is under the mast......for support

Btw, I'm talking at anchor. While underway, I'm in the cockpit and leaning against the cabin if reading etc

Re: Drummer's Stool

My (Yamaha, double-braced) throne has four legs, so slightly more stable and more load-bearing... and mine has a (removable) backrest.

OTOH, I use mine at the drum kits, though, not on the boat.

Re: Drummer's Stool

This works really well for small boats. I built a small wooden stool for our boat, and it opened up a lot of seating options that would otherwise have been impossible. On my next boat I plan to have a few of them. Never thought of a drum stool, though. Good way to innovate.

That Tama Drum Throne w/back rest looks as if it would work great.
