has shallow draft
, is a completely different story than a mono. A swing keel
boat can perform quite well when you need the depth
, and the keel
can be raised for shallow areas. A bilge
keel or twin keel boat can provide many of the benefits of a much shallower draft
, while providing plenty of keel underway. A shallow draft boat wil generally be very rolly (with the above exceptions). It will be subject to substantially more leeway.
