Whitecaps, you have been asking some good questions. This one, however, is very subjective. Where you will sail is a very important factor. A
multihull has shallow
draft, is a completely different story than a mono. A swing
keel boat can perform quite well when you need the
depth, and the
keel can be raised for shallow areas. A
bilge keel or twin keel
boat can provide many of the benefits of a much shallower
draft, while providing plenty of keel underway. A shallow draft boat wil generally be very rolly (with the above exceptions). It will be subject to substantially more leeway.
