Dolpins

Hi all, we had the most amazing new's story here in NZ. Some life savers were swiming and suddenly surrounded by a Pod of Dolphins. The Dolphins shepherded them and wouldn't let them seperate. A short while later, the swimmers discovered they were being protected by the Dolphins from a great white shark circling around them. A wonderful story.

The dolphin has long been a misunderstood creature. This enhances my therory that their animosity with sharks leads to protection of any intended prey.

Dolphins

The story made it to CBC radio. In NZ there is an excellent book called talking dolhpins thinking whales, or the other way around, written by an ex fisherman about fourty years ago. The dolphins used to keep the sharks away when we surfed. Then there was Opo the friendly dolphin that played with the kids at a beach called Opononi. That was in the fifties.

The story was also featured on "Daily Planet", Discovery Canada's flagship program.

Wow!. So we made in the news over in the big countries. Wow!. Now just for those who don't know where NZ is, No, we are not a state in the USA. Or No, we are not an island in the Med. No, we don't wear grass skirts and live in grass huts and yes we have electricity and TV. Yep I have heard all the above comments
To find us, we are down in the South Pacific and Australia is a little island off our west cost. We hope to claim that land one day.
But wait, I don't need to say all that here. I am talking to ones that explore the world, or at least like me, have a globe or atlas and constantly explore them, to see where their adventures may take them one day.
