Does it EVER lay down of the coast of Norther California?

I'm in the middle of getting my sail boat (Tartan 3700) from San Diego to Seattle. Made it in 5 days from San Diego to Bodega Bay in late may with hopes of continuing the trip early July. It has been blowing since then, and I'm in still stuck in Bodega Bay. Any good historical data with respect to WHEN will it EVER lay down.😡😡

I'm not sure, it's the ocean and just seems to blow all the time. Often light air by daybreak and good until early afternoon then picks up. Although if it blew hard the night before may be leftover lumpy in the early am.

Sometime in Oct. It lays down just before the first winter storm in late Oct.

It does, but it seems like it's only for a few days so you have to watch it carefully and be ready to jump on it early. You're in a particular area too where it does seem to blow harder all the time. Maybe ask Passage Weather or some other weather forecasting service to help find those days. Near shore can also be different than what you would find offshore (>15-20 NM).

They don't call it the "perma-gale" for nothing.
