Re: Do you wear pants?

Swimsuit, grey t-shirt, and bucket hat.

Last year I sailed a 14' dinghy.

I swam a lot!

This year I've got a keeelboat, so I can dress better.

White pleated, cuffed trousers
White short-sleeve sport shirt
Blue print ascot

ahh truly stylish for a Gorilla. Exactly what I would like to wear if I had a cat-boat or similar classic. Love the ascot!

I tend to wear light-colored trousers in Central America because shorts are not generally accepted there. I tend to wear long shorts in Europe because shorter shorts are considered unfashionable there. I tend to wear above-the-knee shorts in my home waters, not only because they are cooler, but because I no longer feel compelled to subscribe to adolescent fashions here.

Re: Do you wear pants?

I wear pants unless it is really hot and then I just wear the leather chaps with nothing underneath.

Liar liar chaps on fire...

I can tell from your pic that you have really NICE leather chaps and I would bet big money you would NEVER let a drop of saltwater get on 'em!

Re: Do you wear pants?

Depends on the latitude. I prefer to sail in the shorts and sandals
'tudes. I mostly wear a shirt with a collar for the sun.

Re: Do you wear pants?

I just remembered. In Panama I sailed wearing a bikini and white keds with no laces. My dog just wore her collar.

Man.

That has been a scary long time ago....

Re: Do you wear pants?

In rolled up jeans and a fleece sweatshirt. I count my uniform incomplete unless I don my bucket hat. I have several of them. The fleece is for the chill, the bucket hat for the sheer sexiness.

Sara those chaps have 30 years of bug guts, oil, and dirt ground into them. I am pretty sure that nothing could make them look worse including salt water. You however are right, I was lying!

You are crackin me up. Bug guts huh? Next time you are in SF look me up. Himself can hook you up with a righteous pair for formal occasions!

I can live with half right!

Ok, no more thread drift... now back to our regularly scheduled nautical fashion forum...

Shorts that might have been orange some time back. They might not even had holes on them. Ts or polos that are becoming all the same colour too. If I need anything warmer it is time to head back towards the Equator.

Re: Do you wear pants?

I'll never understand why some people where T-shirts and shorts in mid-winter central California when the high temperature is well below 50 degrees.

Re: Do you wear pants?

I have a pair of jeans and a couple of sweatshirts I wear 2 or 3 times a year when it gets to cold for shorts. The rest of the time its shorts and a denim/fishing shirt or t-shirt and crocs or boat shoes. The shirt and shoes are usually for the ride from the house to the boat, going to stores and restaurants. Otherwise its shorts. Of course if we are going someplace fancy I try wear a shirt and shorts that don't have paint/varnish stains. I just hate it when folks don't dress proper.
