Sing to a sailor's courage, Sing while the elbows bend,
A ruby port your harbor, Raise three sheets to the wind.

Our first sailing instructor grew up in France and her parents had a boat they sailed every weekend. She got seasick every trip and threw up for about 7 years. She was a desired crew member on many race boats when we met her. Skilled on deck and in the galley both. Her so so English was as entertaining as it was instructive.

The way to sailing in not a set course. When she was younger she deeply hated sailing. Overall she was the best instructor we ever had and would be welcome on most any boat. There is a mental component to sailing and you can be born with it or you can come to acquire.
