Maybe you have a different definition of easier than I do. Waiting for a response.
I find that walking forward on a moving Cat at 5+kts in a seaway of 1metre+ a bit like trying to walk on a carpet that's being tugged sharply by someone.. almost impossible to judge your balance and move without grabbing things as you go forward..
A mono hull however I can judge the pitch and roll well enough to walk to the bow confidently in up to a F7-8 without lunging to grab something as the deck unexpectedly skids sideways all of a sudden..

Re: Do Multihullers Ever go Back?

There's something else. On a mono hull I feel the sea state and can judge what is going on around me, and for miles. I'm always barefoot because of that. Yes I jam my toes but it also makes me more careful

EDIT: Wonder if you all also do this.

Nope.. in weather I wear wet suit type neoprene boots.. the grip is excellent and the chance of me being distracted by a broken little toe is eliminated.. and I've broken or dislocated them a few times in the past..

I never want to walk forward for anything.
All lines lead aft.
Self tacking and furling everything......
Anchor on a button.
Guinness on tap.
Wine in the cooler.....
portapotti under seat.
Coffee in the pot.....
T.V. channel on Top Gear.....

and thats just the Dinghy.............

Also... (not having a go Eric.. just passing on a personal opinion..)
Broad Reaching in 3 and 4metre cross sea's with the boom lashed way out so it does not smother the Genoa is bad practice.. it will aid a broach momentum if/when the right wave combination hits your stern.
Once the wind goes more than 130 degrees off the bow I'll drop the main if its a long run.. the Genoa is after all the driving sail.. and I can then do all my adjustments from the cockpit..

Experience counts.
All the older folk I worked with growing up had learned the hard way.... cant buy that, you can only remember it from what they tell you. Usually after you make the mistake to start with ..

No this as I said has nothing to do with design but with taste. You have boats as fast as this ones with a wood or mixed look. I prefer also a mixed look buy obviously some prefer a more zen approach.

I like this one (the interior and the rest) and with 7880kg it is has to have a very light interior considering that 2520kg are ballast.

Well if you like the boat, but can only get it in one look and not to your "taste", then its designed that way.....

Splitting hairs I know....... but I get irritated when I love a boat for what it is and hate the interior and dont have a choice to change it cheaply.

The fore cabin is a bit too white for me. I feel like I am in a Lutheran Church.

Bennie does this too.

Jeanneau not so much

NO NO NO.

Haven't you been paying attention. Folks on monohulls are not allowed to get hurt moving around on their boats. Only folks on multihulls can get hurt and that is because they are old and weak and out of shape.

By the by while I spend a lot of time barefoot when I am making a passage rather than a day sail I really like these bad boys. First started when I was doing white water kayaking and found I really like them in situations where I am likely to get wet. The couple of pairs I keep on my boat have never been worn on land and the soles are very clean.

Back when I was just a whipper snapper the first thing my Dad would say when he took me sailing was 'one hand for yourself, one hand for the ship'.

If you have problems with your judgement maybe you need to get a little more experience judging how boats move in a seaway.
