Delivery charges

What's the going rate for power boat blue water delivery skippers? It's a few years since I did one but have been asked to now. Approximately 1200 miles.

Re: Delivery charges

I asked my neighbour - many do mates rates and some are putting in a low price to break the boredom, but he thought around $300/ day for a skipper up the coast sounded about right. Another acquaintance was charging $350, also up the coast. Of course it depends on the degree of responsibility. I'd say you were worth $1,000 but not everyone gets paid what they're worth.

HaHa, you rate me too highly. It's a bluewater passage and I carry my own insurance so I'll go for $350/day. It's a new boat so hopefully they won't need my engineering skills.

Do you plan a shake down trip? New boats can and do present problems. I had the bolts in the batten cars falling out on one trip.; took us a while to figure out why we had these bolts on the deck.

Re: Delivery charges

All in writing but the resort are regular clients of mine for our engineering work. Plus, I know where the bodies are buried.

Picking up the boat in a residential marina some distance from the nearest clearance port so, depending on wind direction will motor north or south to the clearance port. Not too many batt cars on this gin palace, it's a stinkpot with a nice comfy leather helm chair.
