Off to Mexico on Sunday to take a Leopard cat down to Roatan. Just downloaded the Mexican and Honduran National Anthems together with the Cuban and Jamaican, in case of diversions!

I find a bit of national music playing over the speakers quite helpful if/when boarded by officials and now have the anthems of just about every Littoral State on the planet. Some of them are quite pretty tunes too!

That's pretty nifty! Is there a web site or blog that has a collection of national tunes? Or might you make one?

Fortunately, you're not very bloody likely to sail to Kazakstan... I hear some people have trouble getting that anthem correct (grin).

if all else fails to impress and smooth the way....hustler,marlboro's and johnney walker still work a treat

Pat - I'm listening to it as I type! I found a site called songr (presumably Songr - Finding Music You Like) In the Search by Lyrics you have to type at least 3 words. I typed Kazakstan National Anthem and got lots of hits including the Borat film spoof (quite amusing). Other wise, the "Official" anthem is being played by the US Navy Band...quite a stirring tune!

Atholl: Dunno about the Hustler! And Pat made a valid comment! Cigarettes, as you say, are certainly Universal currency!
