Day one of crew competency course in Cape Town...

First day out today. Had 15 knots of wind with gusts to 20 knots. Man it was wild out there, but amazing. Lots to absorb and take in, but we went through the basics and by end of day we were tacking and jibing like Popeye. So many terms so take in...

Better go do my homework for tomorrow!

True to Cape Town form, barely any wind today. Howling yesterday, becalmed today. Had a great instructor today and everything really came together. Lots of man overboard drills, reefing and tacks and gybes. Dolphins, sunfish and lots of seals about. I motored into the marina and parked the boat today which was epic and actually pretty straight forward. It was something I have been concerned about - pretty sure it's more challenging with stronger winds and current. All in all great day.

Ah, now I know who you are! Were you doing training on the Muira? I was doing sea-trials on a new Phoenix x5 in the bay at the time.
