Current Transport Costs

Hi Can anyone share the costs for transporting a boat from Coast to Coast? I am thinking of going to Europe and don't have time to go thru the Canal etc. I thought I would see if it was possible to take my 43 LOA by 12' 8"beam 25k lb boat across the country from California to Florida. I'll email some of the companies I found with a search engine but just thought I would throw this question out there.

wouldn't it be better to ship from California to Texas, and then sail across the Gulf of Mexico?

Pretty certain you can get to Europe from Galveston.

Trucking will likely be cheaper than putting it on a ship. I used Yacht Path early this year for FL to PacNW. Although there were problems with the schedule and other matters not in their control, they were very good about it and I would have no problem using them again.

You should know that Yacht Path (and probably Dockwise, too) will not do a US port to US port delivery. Jones Act stuff. If you're in California, then their closest port is Ensenada. From there, they would drop you in Ft Lauderdale.

I agree with Bash, I think you're cheapest option would be trucking to Texas.

Thanks Don that is great info. Just for the forum I got another quote for a boat exactly like mine from North Carolina to Alameda Ca for $10,575.

Bash the saving I get from shipping to Galveston would be lost when I have to take a month off of work to get from Galveston to Florida.
