Cruising season upon us - where are you going and why?

I always look forward to November 15 since it's my official end of the Atlantic hurricane season date (subject to change without notice!). I'm curious as to where your cruising plans are taking you this season and why you chose that particular destination?

Sydney to Christchurch. I'm crewing on the first leg of a friend's tour through Asia, and it gives me a chance to inspect a house I bought in NZ.

That's a strange way to get to Asia from Sydney

actually we just put SoulMates to bed for the winter -- for us cruising season will start sometime around april 1 -- then sicily albania and ??? not sure yet where we will winter over next year -- new thoughts new data and new ideas and new destinations --

We're getting our old new boat ready for our first cruise. We don't count the thousand mile delivery trip we made last year to get the old girl from Jacksonville down to the Turks and Caicos. We're planning our first "serious" trip to be from Providenciales, where we live, up to the Abaco area of the Bahamas. And the "why" part is to see if perhaps we are ready to sell the house and pull up anchor and move away from the Turks and Caicos Islands.

This country has gotten strange to live in. It's not a good place for expats who like to cruise with a dog. We've been here over 8 years, and now thinking it's time to move on.

Back to Panama around Feb 1. Boat is there. Great cruising ground. Really like it ashore too. Probably spend most of the year in Panama again this year.
